Transport Canada today released the Holdover Time Guidelines for use in 2017-18 Winter Operations.

In winter 2016-17, SureConsult conducted a series of mandates for business and general aviation companies aimed at developing, implementing and overseeing aircraft deicing operations, including Type IV anti-icing operations in a hangar.
On May 23, 2017, SureConsult launched the SureOps Aircraft Deicing Training Website at the SAE G-12 Deicing Training Subcommittee meeting in Athens. The new site, www.sureops.com, is intended to serve as a resource centre for the aircraft deicing and winter operations’ industries, primarily for training and quality purposes.
The annual Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) G-12 Aircraft Ground Deicing Conference took place from May 18-25, 2017 in Athens, Greece, and the Sure brand was well represented. The SAE G-12 conference is the largest annual gathering of global technical experts and decision-makers in the field of aircraft ground deicing and winter operations.

At most global airports, each deicing service provider or air carrier performing self-deicing activities maintains its own fluid storage. This results in an abundance of drums, totes and tanks scattered over various locations around the airport, often with little or no environmental control systems in place. We’ve all seen it before many times.
In July 2016, the Association of European Airlines (AEA) released the final editions of the AEA Recommendations for De-Icing/Anti-Icing of Aeroplanes on the Ground and the AEA Training Recommendations and Background Information for De-Icing /Anti-Icing of Aeroplane on the Ground. The documents have formed the basis of all European air carrier and de-icing service provider programs since their inception.
The Regina Airport Authority has contracted SureConsult to assist in the development of options for the potential future implementation of a consolidated de/anti-icing fluid storage facility at Regina Airport, as well as options for the overall management of the de/anti-icing fluid supply subsequent to the development of any fluid storage facility. SureConsult is thrilled to have been selected to undertake this important mandate aimed at enhancing the operational and environmental performance of future activities at the airport.
SureWx, SureConsult and JBA Aviation hosted a Deicing Seminar in Helsinki, Finland on January 18, 2017 that was attended by industry experts from Europe and North America. The objective of the seminar was to provide attendees with a forum to learn about and discuss new industry developments and directions related to deicing, winter operations and holdover times, as well as to network with colleagues from around the world.
